Occupational Health Management

Process Support „Sick is(s)t gesund“ at Sick AG

Goals and Topics

In our collaboration with TK, we supported this cross-site project on healthy eating.

Initially, the focus was on structures, responsibilities, and roles, as this was the first national occupational health management (BGM) project of its kind.

  • How can we, as a steering group, remain effective and keep track of the needs and initiatives of the various sites?
  • How can we early on incorporate additional internal and external expertise into our planning?
  • Where can we build on existing and proven processes, and where might we need to forge new paths?
  • How can we establish good communication among participants and ensure it extends to the workforce?

The project started in the midst of the pandemic in spring 2020, so a significant challenge was to find effective and sustainable virtual solutions.

Our role as BGM process facilitators was primarily to maintain a focus on the set goals and the big picture, and to think and act in a structured and holistic manner.

  • Support in preparing decisions for the steering and project groups
  • Ensuring communication and information channels across multiple interfaces
  • Content and didactic support in conducting regular meetings
  • Suggestions for improving project work organization
  • Ensuring participation and involvement of TK sites and Sick site coordinators
  • Establishing a shared (work) overview for all planning related to targeted measures
  • Conducting retrospectives and ‚lessons learned‘

Among the major successes—besides the effective involvement of all sites—was the creation and development of a food blog. This blog facilitated communication within the company, providing regular tips, tricks, and easy-to-implement seasonal recipes on healthy eating, along with active discussions among employees.

In a short time, we strengthened proven structures and established new processes. This stable organizational framework allowed the project to reach various target groups through different formats, actively engaging on all levels of awareness and depth, ultimately leading to success. A follow-up project on mental health has already begun.
