Personnel Development/MIKRO Trainings

Diehl Aviation – Healthy Leadership

Summary
At Diehl, we conducted our MICRO-trainings under the theme of „Healthy Leadership.“ Before starting the MICRO-trainings, leaders underwent a foundational training to impart basic knowledge of healthy leadership. This knowledge served as a common, binding foundation upon which the subsequent MICRO-trainings were built. Topics covered in the foundational training included:

  • Health is more than the absence of illness – the salutogenic approach
  • The two sides of the scale – stress and resilience and their significance in the workplace
  • Why leaders should consider their teams‘ absenteeism
  • Main areas of healthy leadership

All leaders across all locations were required to attend at least one MICRO-training per year on a topic of their choice. Each year, in close collaboration with BGM, we prepared four topics for selection.

The goal of the MICRO-trainings was to provide theoretical insights from recent research/central tools and to develop actionable solutions for each participant’s individual challenges on the topic.

The MICRO-training series included topics such as:

  • Managing stress: How can I strengthen my team?
  • Healthy leadership through effective work organization: Learn about Personal Kanban and how this method can help structure and organize daily work.
  • Decentralized leadership: How can I ensure employees at different locations work as a cohesive team?
  • Successful error culture: How can we effectively handle mistakes?
  • We have more tasks than we can handle! – How can we manage this healthily?

With the combination of foundational training and MICRO-trainings on various relevant and urgent topics related to health and well-being, we contributed to addressing „Healthy Leadership“ on multiple levels: We raised awareness of workplace health, continually sharpened leaders‘ awareness of their role in creating a health framework, and developed practical, immediately applicable solutions that could make a significant difference in health management.
