AZO – New Forms of Collaboration

Goals and Topics

When exploring and establishing new forms of collaboration, it is essential to also address the topic of leadership. In a series of MICRO-trainings, we examined various aspects of leadership, collaboration, and work organization, focusing on the following goals:

  • Reflecting on existing routines and beliefs.
  • Providing targeted, practical training on „new“ ideas, concepts, and solutions.
  • Developing a mindset that enables leaders to effectively meet future challenges.

Every leader was invited to attend five MICRO-trainings. These trainings were spread over approximately 10 months, with the aim of forming stable learning and working groups where possible. Each learning group consisted of 5-6 leaders.

The MICRO-training series for leaders at AZO covered the following topics:

  1. Why is everyone talking about self-organization and new forms of collaboration?
  2. Leadership bottleneck: Why management is finding it increasingly difficult to fulfill its core responsibilities.
  3. Fundamental principles of agility, self-organization, and new forms of collaboration.
  4. Involvement, participation, and decision-making processes.
  5. Kanban and retrospectives: Two essential tools.

The MICRO-trainings were conducted at AZO as a highly practical training format. This training series was also integrated into our support of the OneAZO project. To complement the training series, we held regular practice dialogues to facilitate a broader exchange at the conclusion of each of the five topics.

Two to three learning groups formed a learning circle. In these circles, we engaged in discussions around specific guiding questions, reflecting together on the implementation of insights from the MICRO-training and whether they proved effective in practice. The learning circle meetings were moderated and facilitated by ACCENTUS.
